EDITOR’S LETTER
Welcome, all, to treats! Issue 12. Spring is a time of new life, and with the season we’re excited to welcome our newest
venture, the Nu Muses calendar. I was always passionate about the idea of creating an exclusive fine art calendar inspired
by Pirelli’s magnificent versions in the 1970s, a goal I’m happy to say we’ve accomplished with Nu Muses. The project
celebrates the art of the classic nude as well as the elegance and romance of the female body in a sublime, boxed,
limited edition, fine art calendar already available for purchase. It features the most stunning models in the world shot by
renowned photographer David Bellemere. As a preview, this issue features 50 pages of images from the Nu Muses shoot
(including our cover girl, the sensual, alluring Alejandra Guilmant) narrowed down from thousands of images. There will
also be a Nu Muses book available later this year. Additionally, we’re excited to share there will be a documentary called
Nude airing on Starz in the coming months about the making of the calendar, touching not just on our process but the
line between art and commerce.
This issue also welcomes the talented, Emmy Award-winning Aaron Paul, an actor whose work I have always respected
and admired. He talks to treats! about the road that led him to stardom, from his small town of Emmett, Idaho to Los
Angeles to Breaking Bad to today, when he stars in Hulu’s The Path.
I am excited to feature modernist architect Ray Kappe in this issue as well. When I went to photograph Kappe in his
Pacific Palisades home, he and his wife were so warm and inviting. I loved listening to him talk about his work, and was
utterly inspired by what this unsung hero of architecture had to say. Meeting Kappe and his wife Shelly was truly an
incredible experience.
I also had the pleasure of shooting the gorgeous actress and model Elsie Hewitt for the issue, and I’m sure The Riker
Brothers felt the same about photographing beautiful model Genevieve Morton on location in Borneo. Another powerful
feature includes the sleek, shibari-inspired work of French erotic photographer Martial Lenoir.
We’re thrilled to preview the latest books of Tony Kelly and Vincent Peters, fine art and fashion photographers we’ve been
proud to have as contributors to past issues of the magazine.
All in all, Issue 12 is brimming with incredible stories, both visual and verbal, and we’re delighted to share them all with
you. I hope you enjoy. I know I have!
Cheers!
