HOW THE STAR’ S EXODUS FROM IDAHO TO LOS ANGELES CHANGED HIS LIFE
Something momentous happened on August 27, 1991. More momentous, even, than Aaron Paul’ s 12th birthday. If you’ re thinking that was the day Nirvana released Nevermind, thereby ensuring Millennials’ recycled nostalgia for flannel shirts and ripped jeans … sorry, you’ re a month premature. However, if you remembered Pearl Jam’ s Ten actually beat Nirvana to the record stores, then you already have some insight into Aaron Paul’ s psyche.
Paul, like many gentlemen of good taste who came of age with early‘ 90s rock, is a huge Pearl Jam fan. He and I discover our mutual affinity for the band on a sunny Saturday afternoon soon after plopping down on an island of white carpet in the“ Peacock Room” at the Absolut Elyx House in the Hollywood Hills.
